Schonbek introduces The Rose: a luscious new lamp
for reading or romance
Romantics have gained a whole new form of self-expression with a new lamp by Schonbek called The Rose. The Rose is available as a table lamp, floor lamp or electrified candelabrum.
Whatever form it takes, The Rose is not at all a conventional lamp, but rather a complete crystal chandelier that functions as a lamp. As such, it brings the idea of a lamp to a whole new level of extravagance. The Rose lamp has an unusual, antique style shade, hand-sewn of sheer iridescent organza with silk charmeuse trim. Its see-through quality permits you to enjoy the elaborate design of the chandelier within.
New as it is, The Rose is deeply nostalgic.
"Those who favor antique furnishings, vintage fabric and gauzy drapery," said President & CEO Andrew Schonbek, "are almost sure to fall in love with The Rose. If you lack an attic full of heirlooms from forgotten ancestors, The Rose will make it up to you.
"The Rose is named after the delicate roses with a porcelain look that are entwined in the scrollwork of this exuberant design. But most enchanting of all is the crystal. We commissioned antique styles of crystal especially for The Rose."
Elongated crystal raindrops weep from curvaceous arms. Tiny faceted crystal jewelry beads and dainty green crystal leaves deepen the sense of nostalgia. Some renditions of The Rose are entirely trimmed in glossy opal crystal in pastel colors. Some are a mix of opal and transparent colored crystal.
Romantics pride themselves on being individuals, as different from one another as Byron and Shelley. And so Schonbek has made it possible to specify The Rose to be in perfect harmony with one's personality and decor. There are myriad crystal color palettes and finishes to choose among, adding up to 32 varieties of The Rose.
Each palette is a harmonious mix of colors. The Mint Julep palette, for example, contains crystal in several shades of green and rose, as well as aqua.
The Rose in Opal Rose would suit a dreamy interior full of faded floral armchairs. The Rose in Midnight Lace might be a bedside lamp in a boudoir with black satin sheets. An old fashioned sitting room with rich, deep colors might call for The Rose in Blue Violet.
Every rendition of The Rose, lamp or candelabrum, carries the Schonbek hallmark.
