This baroque style of chandelier dates back to the court of King Louis XIV in the seventeenth century. Schonbek's interpretation is replete with authentic details: ornate scrollwork, open-cage construction, crystal spikes and handcut crystal pendeloques.
At the same time, the bold mix of crystal adds a flavor of twenty-first century eclecticism. Ancient rock crystal ornaments typical of the period contrast with clear crystal and colored crystal in olivine and smoke topaz.
