The new Paris Las Vegas casino and mega-resort carries out its theme with a passion that is positively French.
Guests gaze upon the Arc de Triomphe, the facade of the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower (scaled down un peu). The cuisine, the shopping, the decor – Oh! là! là! But what makes the crowd stop and stare is the dazzling display of Schonbek crystal chandeliers in rooms that the 17th century monarch, Louis XIV, might have mistaken for his own.
67 Maria Theresa style crystal chandeliers and 198 crystal wall sconces illuminate scenes that recall the Château de Versailles and the Hall of Mirrors.
Authenticity was everything to the project owners. Schonbek won the bid over European competitors based on quality of crystal and historic integrity of design.
As it happens, Schonbek was instrumental in reintroducing Maria Theresa styling in the twentieth century. We went to our own antique catalogs to revive the styling in all its glory for Paris Las Vegas.
The Elwyn Gee Group, lighting consultants on the project, were impressed with the lack of breakage in such an enormous project.
Effective packaging is no accident at Schonbek. We custom-design our own packaging and even test-drive it. For example, we packed one of the Paris Las Vegas chandeliers and had a truck driver take it over rough roads for three hours to make sure it would survive shipping.
