This new chandelier is fully cast. Every frame element, from candleholders and bobeches to the tiniest connector, is an elaborate casting. To create a perfectly harmonious look, Schonbek designed all the castings from scratch and had them made in Italy.
Exuberant leafy and floral motifs and lattice-like patterns are etched and incised in great detail throughout the castings. Highly stylized, faceted crystal ornaments contrast with the intricate castings.
The rococo styling of Sophia harks back to the eighteenth century.
