The greatest extravagances of traditional French and Italian interior design find fulfillment in this bed chamber fit for a princely pair. The architectural ornamentation is decidedly Italianate, the chandelier French. Versailles by Schonbek harks back to the seventeenth-century French court of Louis XIV, a time when the privileged classes slept as luxuriously as they lived. Schonbek pays careful attention to historic models with this chandelier. The ornate scrollwork, open cage construction and abundant display of crystal pendeloques are all authentic to the period.
